Plant-Based Choice is a nonprofit volunteer project established to address the concerns of people making the dietary decisions for their households. Our objectives are to provide educational information to help households adopt and maintain plant-based diets and to address the consumer concerns of marginalized communities.

Plant-Based Choice aims to provide free educational information based on the needs of the community as expressed by the community. We are currently surveying the Greater Toronto Area to elicit feedback on which plant-based products are readily available in the GTA, which products are not easily accessed and which categories of products are of the greatest concern to consumers. This project will place a focus on the needs of Black and other marginalized consumers’ needs, as we recognize that geography and preconceived notions about consumer interest often influence the marketing goods.

Plant-Based Choice is dedicated to compiling a list of Canadian made plant-based goods that address the particular concerns of people making the complex decisions of household nutrition. Our promise to the community is to highlight those businesses that are owned by people who have traditionally been underrepresented in culinary and entrepreneurial spaces, particularly those business run by people from racialized communities, immigrant communities and women.
